Production Engineer II
About the role
AGH Industries, a division of Aereos, LLC builds precision components and assemblies for military and commercial aircraft, supplying the Defense Logistics Agency, prime contractors, and aerospace OEMs. We are hiring a Production Engineer to own how our parts get built turning engineering drawings into stable, efficient, compliant manufacturing processes on the shop floor.
You will sit between engineering, quality, supply chain, and production. When a job is stuck, late, or failing inspection, you are the person who finds out why and fixes the process, so it stays fixed.
What you'll do
- Review customer drawings, specifications, and contract requirements for manufacturability before quote and before release to the floor.
- Build and maintain routings, work instructions, travelers, and bills of material in our ERP (Industrios).
- Plan machining, fabrication, welding, and assembly sequences, including fixtures, tooling, and inspection points.
- Specify outside processes heat treat, plating, anodize, NDT, paint and the governing specs (AMS, MIL, ASTM) on purchase orders.
- Support First Article Inspection (AS9102) packages and resolve FAI and source-inspection findings.
- Lead root cause and corrective action on nonconformances, scrap, and rework; disposition MRB items with Quality.
- Drive cycle time, yield, and on-time delivery improvements using lean and data from the floor.
- Work with Supply Chain to qualify vendors for special processes and to source hard-to-find parts and materials.
- Answer production questions on the floor and keep jobs moving against ship dates.
What you bring
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, or Aerospace Engineering, or equivalent hands-on experience.
- 3+ years in a production or manufacturing engineering role, ideally in aerospace or defense.
- Fluent reading of engineering drawings, including GD&T (ASME Y14.5) and military and industry specifications.
- Working knowledge of CNC machining, sheet metal, welding, and assembly processes.
- Experience writing routings and work instructions in an ERP or MRP system.
- Problem-solving discipline: 8D, 5 Whys, fishbone, or similar.
- Clear communicator who is as comfortable on the shop floor as in a customer meeting.
Nice to have
- Experience in an AS9100 quality system and with AS9102 first articles.
- Familiarity with DLA contracts, source inspection, and government flow-down requirements.
- CAD/CAM proficiency (SolidWorks, Mastercam, or similar).
- Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or equivalent.
- Background with castings, forgings, or armor and welded structural assemblies.
