Production Engineer
Summary
Oversee stainless steel fabrication production, coordinating teams and machines to meet customer orders, reduce waste, and ensure quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
· Plan and schedule production activities according to customer orders and delivery deadlines.
· Coordinate with Sales, Engineering, Procurement, and Warehouse to ensure smooth production flow.
· Monitor production progress to meet delivery deadline.
· Ensure production targets are achieved within the planned timeline.
· Reduce production downtime, material wastage, and operating costs.
· Supervise daily production activities and ensure compliance with work instructions.
· Allocate manpower and machine resources efficiently.
· Monitor machine utilisation and production output.
· Troubleshoot production issues and implement corrective actions.
· Ensure all fabricated stainless steel products comply with customer specifications, drawings, and quality standards.
· Work closely with the Quality team to resolve quality issues.
· Investigate non-conformities and implement preventive measures.
· Review engineering drawings and fabrication requirements before production.
· Provide technical guidance to supervisors, welders, fabricators, and machine operators.
· Assist in developing fabrication methods and production procedures.
· Coordinate with Procurement to ensure timely availability of materials.
· Ensure proper material identification and traceability.
· Maintain accurate production and inventory records.
Skills & Competencies
· Strong knowledge of stainless steel fabrication processes (cutting, bending, welding, polishing, assembly, and finishing).
· Ability to interpret engineering drawings and fabrication specifications.
· Familiarity with welding processes such as Argon welding.
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
· Good leadership and team management abilities.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
· Proficiency with engineering design programs such as AutoCAD, BIM and Rhino.
