PRODUCTION HEAD
We are looking for an experienced and hands-on Production Manager to oversee our daily metal fabrication operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing production activities, manpower, machinery, drawings, project coordination and delivery schedules.
This role requires someone who is practical, organised and able to communicate effectively with customers, suppliers, designers, site teams and production workers.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee daily production and workshop operations to ensure smooth and efficient workflow.
- Plan and coordinate production schedules according to project requirements and deadlines.
- Supervise production workers and allocate manpower effectively.
- Monitor the operation, maintenance and condition of metal fabrication machinery and equipment.
- Coordinate with the production team to ensure work is carried out according to approved drawings and specifications.
- Read and understand technical drawings, fabrication drawings and shop drawings.
- Able to draw and issue fabrication drawing and familiar with AutoCAD software.
- Coordinate with designers, project managers, suppliers, subcontractors and site teams on production requirements.
- Attend project meetings, site meetings and discussions when required.
- Discuss and resolve production, technical and installation issues with customers and project teams.
- Monitor the quality of fabrication works and ensure completed works meet project requirements.
- Follow up on material requirements, material ordering and delivery schedules.
- Coordinate with suppliers for materials, hardware and other production requirements.
- Monitor project progress and ensure fabrication works are completed within the required timeline.
- Assist the management team with project costing, quotations and sales discussions when required.
- Communicate with existing and potential customers to understand their requirements and provide suitable fabrication solutions.
- Conduct site visits and measurements when required.
- Provide technical advice and recommend suitable fabrication methods and materials.
- Identify production issues and improve workflow, productivity and efficiency.
- Ensure proper housekeeping, workplace safety and compliance with company procedures.
- Perform other duties related to production, projects and business development as assigned by management.
Requirements
- Minimum 3–5 years of relevant experience in metal fabrication, engineering, construction or a related industry.
- Experience in managing workshop / production operations.
- Good knowledge of metal fabrication processes, machinery and materials.
- Able to read and understand technical and fabrication drawings.
- Good coordination, communication and problem-solving skills.
- Able to communicate and work effectively with customers, suppliers and internal teams.
- Able to work independently and make practical decisions on production matters.
- Strong sense of responsibility and able to work under pressure to meet project deadlines.
- Hands-on, proactive and willing to be involved in both workshop and project coordination.
- Experience in quotation, costing or sales support will be an added advantage.
- Singapore Class 3 driving licence is preferred.
- Able to travel to project sites, suppliers and customers when required.
Preferred Skills
- Metal fabrication / welding / stainless steel / mild steel experience.
- Knowledge of CNC, laser cutting, bending or other metal fabrication machinery.
- Experience with AutoCAD or similar drawing software.
- Experience coordinating commercial projects, renovation projects or interior fit-out works.
- Good understanding of production planning and project scheduling.
