Production Lead - Day Shift

Position Summary

The Tooling Lead is a working lead and will operate industrial devices that generate tooling fixtures. Must possess technical knowledge such as drawing and spec interpretation. Will need to have the ability to perform complex setups and skillfully operate CNC and manual mills and lathes-while maintaining quality and safety standards; keeping records; and maintaining equipment and supplies. Responsible for placing requisitions for material and tools and planning/coordinating all tooling activities and priorities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The ideal candidate will be an experienced machinist with at least 3-years experience working at journey level

• Bridgeport and manual lathe machining experience required.
• Expertise in CNC or Profile
• Working familiarity with shop planning/tooling
• Experience/knowledge applicable to fixturing/tooling applications

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
• Certification from an accredited technical college a plus
• Minimum 3 years of progressive milling experience as journey level.
• Aerospace industry experience is preferred.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Required Skills

• Possess basic math and geometry knowledge with elementary knowledge of engineering principals helpful
• Ability to read blueprints, follow work order and verbal instructions
• Knowledgeable of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T)
