Production Machinist - Weekend Shift
Description
We're looking for a skilled Weekend Shift Production Machinist who takes pride in precision, craftsmanship, and consistent results. The Production Machinist independently sustains quality and output on assigned production processes. The role manages normal process variation, completes approved three-axis family changeovers, and may operate released five-axis processes within clearly defined no-change boundaries.
Job Responsibilities
- Own day-to-day performance of assigned production work, including safety, quality, output, tool life, scrap, downtime, and shift handoff.
- Review drawings, setup sheets, control plans, programs, tooling, offsets, material, inspection requirements, and job documentation before production.
- Complete approved family changeovers on authorized Haas VF-4SS, VF-6SS, and VF-8 processes and submit a conforming first piece.
- Establish or verify offsets and make dimensional or tool-wear corrections on authorized three-axis processes within documented limits.
- Use evidence such as inspection results, tool condition, runout, workholding, burrs, finish, chatter, and repeatability to diagnose routine three-axis process variation.
- Operate a released and proven process on an individually authorized Makino DA300, Haas UMC-750, or Haas UMC-1000.
- On five-axis work, load and unload parts, run the approved cycle, perform in-process inspection, monitor the process, and maintain production records.
Job Qualifications
- Strong CNC machining experience and the ability to independently manage production processes.
- Solid understanding of GD&T, print reading, precision measurement, tooling, offsets, and process control.
- Experience with three-axis changeovers, setup verification, and routine troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with five-axis machining and the discipline to follow established process controls and authorization limits.
- Must meet minimum vision standards, corrected or uncorrected, as follows: Snellen 14/18, 20/25 or better, Jaeger Type 2 at 14 inches, or Ortho-Rated 8.
- For ITAR compliance: this position requires the individual to be a 'U.S. person' (U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, asylee, or refugee).
