Production Manager

Atlas Roofing, Shingles & Underlayment division is seeking a Production Manager for the Ardmore, OK facility.

Production Manager Primary Responsibilities

• Reports directly to Operations Manager.

• Supervises three (3) Production Supervisors and approximately fifty-four (54) hourly plant employees.

• Plans, directs and schedules the personnel and operations in the Roofing shingle line.

• Establishes and coordinates production priorities for products while ensuring effective and efficient operating planning and controlling cost factors.

• Coordinates production activities with other departments to obtain optimum quality production and utilization of manpower and equipment.

• Manages production schedules and ensures conformance to quality standards and customer specifications as well as the proper operation of all machinery.

• Establishes production standards and forges an atmosphere of continuous improvement through the utilization of identifiable metrics and the implementation and use of lean manufacturing and other tools / techniques to decrease process variability.

• Develops, implements and continuously updates methods and standard operating procedures (SOP) to eliminate non-conformance and improve safety, quality and productivity.

• Directly responsible for ensuring all environmental and safety policies and procedures are properly performed and enforced. Works to improve operations to maintain compliance with proactive planning with regard to environmental impact.

• Ensure compliance with plant rules, procedures, and collective bargaining agreement (CBA).

• Participates in the Plant Safety Committee and Labor/Management Relations Committee.

• Ensures the training and development of supervisory and hourly employees in proper work methods to ensure safety, quality, and housekeeping.

• Works with engineering and maintenance on capital and preventative maintenance for plant and equipment.

• Occasional travel to customers, vendors and other Atlas facilities as required

Production Manager Experience

• Minimum five (5) years’ experience managing in a continuous manufacturing environment

• Experience leading in a union environment preferred.

• Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills.

• Speaks fluent English.

• Knows advanced arithmetic, statistics, and algebra.

• Reads and interprets policies and procedures.

• Presents information and responds to questions from employees at all levels of management.

• Competent with Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, Internet, email and MRP / ERP systems.

• Demonstrates attention to detail.

• Excels in time management skills

Production Superintendent Education, Licenses & Certifications

• Post-high school education; associate or bachelor’s degree in related field of study preferred; or equivalent job-related experience.
