The Position

In this position, you will be reporting to the Operations Manager where you will be required to oversee the day-to-day management of all roofing jobs. You will be tasked with developing and ensuring the execution of the Production Department plan whilst delivering maximum profitability, productivity, high safety standards and within the specified budget. As a dedicated leader, you will be required to ensure the Production team delivers superior product quality and achieves a high level of customer service satisfaction.

Some of your specific tasks will include:

• The planning, directing and coordination of Roofing Operations;
  
• Management of resources, in particular the management of human resources and stock/equipment resources;
  
• Monitoring and strategic improvement of productivity, efficiency and profitability. This includes: break-even analysis, monitoring job costing, monitoring the Production Department’s expenditure and ensuring jobs are performed to a high quality standard.
  
• Maintaining effective communication with all stakeholders, including department team members, management and executive team, clients and suppliers.
  
• Ensuring all job sites and practices conducted within the Production Department are compliant with relevant Workplace Health & Safety legislation and regulations.
  

The Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate will have the following:

• Certificate III in Roof Plumbing or relevant trade (Desirable but not essential)
  
• Business or Management certification (Desirable)
  
• 5+ years of Roof Plumbing experience or similar trade, including management of a crew/team
  
• Operations or general management experience (Desirable)
  
• Strong time management, organizational and prioritizing skills.
  
• A high level of attention to details
  
• Decision-making and creative problem-solving skills
  
• High level of communication skills, including oral, written and interpersonal
  
• Conflict management, conflict resolution and negotiation skills
  
• Strategic planning expertise, including proven ability in effectively managing humans and physical resources.
  
• Strong time management, organizational and prioritizing skills.
  
• Good computing skills, including the effective use of emails and Microsoft Office package.
