The Position...
Reporting directly to the General Manager, you will be
active in production planning and preparation, continuous improvements, and new
staff training, where you will be required to oversee 30-40 staff in the
timber packaging production and quality fields. Part of the role includes managing
manufacturing machinery, whilst also demonstrating knowledge in efficient
setups including lean manufacturing techniques. The role will be based in
their Carole Park facility.
You will be responsible
for…
- Planning,
organizing and directing the manufacturing and maintenance operations
which ensure the most effective return on assets
- Initiating
plans and processes which minimize manufacturing costs through effective
utilization of manpower, equipment, facilities, materials, and ERP systems
- Implementation
of manufacturing strategies and action plans to ensure the company’s
strategic initiatives are achieved
- Managing
spending against budget, controlling spending in relation to changes in
production volume
- Monitoring
product standards and implementing quality control programs
- OH&S
compliance and implementation
The ideal candidate will have
previous experience in the timber manufacturing industry or similar, along with
a decisive mindset and excellent team organization skills.
To be considered for this
position you will need:
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a similar high
production role, preferably in Lean Manufacturing environment (essential)
- Tertiary qualification in an engineering discipline and/or
manufacturing management (desirable)
- Ability to lead and work with team to achieve results
- Ability to work under pressure while motivating others and meeting
tight deadlines
- Above average Computer skills (Outlook, Excel, Word) with previous
experience using Inventory Management/ERP system
- Ability to read and understand drawing schematics with some
exposure to measuring & quoting
- Ability to review processes and develop strategies to improve
efficiencies
- Ability to communicate clearly and persuasively with attention to
detail and excellent problem solving capabilities
- Previous experience in Industrial Packaging industry dealing with
timber pallets, boxes and crates will be considered an advantage
