The Production Manager is responsible for leading daily manufacturing operations and directly overseeing all production supervisors. This role owns execution of the production plan, drives performance across Safety, Quality, Productivity, and Cost, and ensures the plant runs efficiently, meets customer demand, and maintains operational stability
Key Responsibilities
- Implement and control the production schedule in coordination with planners, maintenance, tooling, and processing teams• Review and adjust production schedules as needed• Develop and sustain KPIs that drive results across Safety, Quality, Productivity, and Cost Control• Manage human and material resources to meet production targets• Make decisions regarding equipment use, maintenance, modification, and procurement• Implement standard operating procedures for production operations• Ensure standard operating procedures are followed and adhered to• Ensure implementation and adherence to health and safety procedures• Set product quality standards• Monitor quality standards of products• Implement and enforce quality control and tracking programs to meet quality objectives• Analyze production and quality data to detect and correct problems• Determine and implement improvements to the production process• Prepare and maintain production reports• Monitor and review staff performance and organize necessary interventions for improvement• Set production budgets• Manage production budgets• Implement cost control programs• Ensure effective collaboration between departments• Facilitate continuous improvement initiatives within the team while coaching and engaging hourly employees• Maintain ownership of 5S with high standards of cleanliness and organization across all areas of responsibility
Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Strong knowledge of production and manufacturing processes and techniques, including raw material usage, variances, and scrap management• Working knowledge of quality systems, standards, and continuous improvement methodologies, including Lean and/or Six Sigma• Solid understanding of health and safety standards and compliance requirements within a manufacturing environment• Knowledge of machines, tools, and production equipment, with the ability to make informed operational decisions• Understanding of business, finance, and cost control principles, including budgeting and resource management• Knowledge of human resource principles and practices, with the ability to lead and develop teams• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze production and quality data to identify issues and implement solutions• Proven ability to plan, organize, and prioritize work, including production scheduling and workflow management (working knowledge of 5S)• Strong time management skills and attention to detail• Effective decision-making skills in a fast-paced manufacturing environment• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization• Demonstrated ability to influence, lead, and motivate teams, including delegation and performance management• Ability to collaborate across teams and manage conflict effectively• Adaptability and stress tolerance in a high-demand production environment• Results-driven mindset with a focus on operational performance and accountability• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ERP systems
Education
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
Experience
- Five (5) or more years of experience in production and manufacturing processes and techniques required
