Production Manager

This role oversees all production activities, ensuring high standards of safety, quality, and efficiency. They lead and manage production teams, drive process improvements, and ensure compliance with industry regulations. This role involves coordinating with various teams to meet production targets and enhance customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities of the role are:
Leadership and Team Management

Provide guidance and support to the Laundry Supervisor and Laundry Team Leader, ensuring adherence to safety and efficiency standards.
Develop and implement both short-term and long-term action plans to address safety and productivity issues.
Lead, train, and supervise production staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and high performance.

Safety and Compliance

Oversee all safety activities on the production floor, ensuring compliance with Work, Health & Safety (WHS) and company policies.
Monitor and enforce compliance with health and safety regulations and address any issues promptly.
Ensure that all production areas are kept clean and organised, reporting any unsafe conditions to the Branch Manager/Operations Manager and HSE Coordinator.

Production Efficiency and Quality

Monitor production processes and implement recommended changes to improve labour utilisation, efficiency, and cost management.
Ensure that production KPI’s, including safety, quality, and customer satisfaction, are consistently met or exceeded.
Manage linen processing and stock levels, including planning for shortages and addressing public holiday and breakdown impacts.

Customer and Stakeholder Liaison

Liaise with Customer Care and Account Managers to resolve customer issues related to production, quality, and deliveries.
Handle all customer inquiries and complaints effectively, ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction.
Coordinate with the Sales team to enhance DIFOT (Delivery In-Full, On-Time) performance.

Operational Oversight

Supervise the maintenance and repair of all machines through the Maintenance team to ensure optimal performance.
Manage rewash procedures and ensure contractor compliance with company standards.
Oversee the execution of production policies, procedures, and standards, always ensuring adherence.

Budget and Financial Management

Develop and manage departmental budgets, including forecasting and controlling expenses.
Monitor financial performance and implement cost-saving measures where possible.

Contractor and Supplier Management

Oversee the performance of contractors and ensure they comply with company policies and procedures.
Manage relationships with suppliers to ensure timely delivery and quality of materials.
Monitor and resolve any issues related to contractor performance or material quality.

Skills and Experience

A Degree with a minimum of 3 years' experience, or a Diploma with at least 5 years' experience in leading and managing teams.
Proven track record in leading and managing Production teams, demonstrating strong team building and leadership skills.
OH&S certification, First Aid certification, and High-Risk Licenses are advantageous.
Extensive experience in managing production processes, optimising efficiency, and ensuring adherence to quality standards.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective interaction with team members, customers, and stakeholders.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address and resolve production issues promptly.
Comprehensive understanding of health and safety regulations and industry standards, with the ability to enforce compliance.

Production labour cost (within/under the budget).
Kilo Per Operating Hour (KPOH) (95%/above the budget).
Customer fulfillment (95% and above).
Linen rejected rate (under 3%).
Linen rewashed (under 2.5%).
Dry and wet ratio (20% /under).
