Production Operations Manager
The Production Operations Manager is a senior, hands-on leader responsible for ensuring the effective, compliant, and efficient operation of all production activities for Justice Grown NJ.
This role combines strategic oversight with a roll-up-your-sleeves mentality, ensuring that production runs smoothly day-to-day while also driving long-term process improvements. The Production Operations Manager works closely with cross-functional teams to align production with company goals, maintain compliance with the New Jersey Cannabis Regulatory Commission (CRC), and deliver consistent, high-quality products.
What You'll Do:
· Ensure departmental goals are consistently met by aligning production objectives with company priorities, driving accountability at every level of leadership.
· Lead with a hands-on approach, engaging directly with production processes and supporting team members as needed to meet goals.
· Develop and implement strategies to optimize workflows, reduce waste, and increase scalability, ensuring consistent execution across the department.
· Establish and track KPIs that measure both team performance and leadership effectiveness, with a focus on compliance, efficiency, safety, and quality.
· Manage departmental budgets and resource planning to ensure cost-effective operations and accurate forecasting.
· Partner cross-functionally with cultivation, retail, quality, and distribution teams to ensure seamless coordination and alignment of production priorities.
· Oversee regulatory compliance, audits, and inspections under New Jersey CRC requirements, ensuring adherence across all production processes.
· Drive innovation through new technologies, equipment, and best practices, ensuring adoption and sustainability across the department.
· Provide senior-level reporting to operations leadership on departmental performance, risks, and continuous improvement initiatives.
· Promote a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement through both leadership and hands-on engagement.
· Act as the key point of contact for production decisions, vendor coordination, and leadership reporting.
· Other responsibilities as needed to meet goals.
What You'll Bring:
· Bachelor’s Degree and 5-8 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
· Meet requirements to pass NJ cannabis affiliation
· Ability to maintain product accurately and efficiently
· Ability to meet deadlines while maintaining focus on accuracy and attention to detail
· Ability to take direction and complete daily tasks with minimal supervision
· Ability to maintain high standards in a fast paced, constantly evolving environment
· High level of organization, patience and flexibility
· A valid driver's license is required
· Willing to focus on repetitive work for long periods of time
· Familiarity with cannabis production equipment, processes, and compliance requirements.
· Strong organizational and time-management skills.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
· Proficiency in seed-to-sale tracking systems (e.g., METRC) and Microsoft Office Suite.
