Line Operative – Nights
Newstaff Employment Services, Milton Keynes are recruiting on behalf of a global manufacturer of plastic caps and closures for the packaging industry.
Our client employs over 200 people across three modern, well-equipped factories, operating multiple shifts and supplying major blue-chip customers using high-speed automated production techniques.
We are currently looking for Line Operatives to join the night shift team.
Shift Pattern
- Tuesday to Friday
- 8:00pm – 8:00am
- 12-hour shifts
Pay Rates
- Training (3–4 weeks on day shift): Tuesday to Friday, 8:00am – 8:00pm – £12.95 per hour
- Night Shift: Tuesday to Friday, 8:00pm – 8:00am – £15.80 per hour (£12.95 per hour plus a 22% shift premium)
Following successful completion of training, you will move onto the permanent night shift.
Key Responsibilities
- Erecting cardboard cartons and attaching labels
- Carrying out quality inspections on finished products
- Stacking pallets with completed boxes
- Making up new boxes
- Moving cartons and bulk bins to and from production machines
- Completing production paperwork accurately
- Maintaining high standards of housekeeping within the production area
- Following health and safety procedures at all times
What We're Looking For
- Previous experience in a production or manufacturing environment
- Experience in a similar role is preferred
- Physically fit and able to undertake manual handling duties
- Comfortable standing for 12-hour shifts
- Good English reading and writing skills
- Good numerical skills
- Reliable, hardworking and able to work as part of a team
