Description

About the role

We are looking for committed, dynamic people motivated by working in heavy industrial or continuous production/foundry environments. If you have previous experience in tapping, casting, furnace control, or heavy production tasks (or you are eager to learn and develop in this area), we want to meet you!

What you'll do

  1. Main functions of the tapping process (Job tasks)
  • Opening and drilling the taphole:

-Prepare the tapping equipment (thermal/oxygen lances or electro-slag) and execute the drilling of the furnace outlet hole (taphole) to allow the flow of molten material.

  • Control and maintenance of the casting flow:
  • Continuously supervise the tapping process, ensuring that the molten material flows constantly, smoothly, and safely through the refractory channels toward the corresponding vessels.
  • Conditioning and preparation of the taphole (Furnace mouth):
  • Remove remains of mass or hardened "cake" after finishing the previous casting.
  • Perform the cleaning, adjustment, and sealing (plugging) of the furnace mouth to prepare the hole for the next production cycle.
  • Preparation and positioning of trains and vessels:
  • Verify, prepare, and position the trains, thermal trolleys, molds, or ingot molds that will receive the molten product, ensuring they are clean, dry, and ready for casting.

Conditioning and cleaning of the tapping pits:

  • Clean and remove material remains, accumulated slag, or spills in the tapping area pits to guarantee safety and continuous operational operability.

Auxiliary and operational support functions

  • Maintenance of industrial order and hygiene:
  • Execute order and cleaning tasks in the plant and in the areas adjacent to the furnace following the guidelines set by the shift supervisor.
  • Basic maintenance: Collaborate with technical personnel in preventive maintenance interventions or minor corrective maintenance in the furnace area.
  • Raw materials and waste operations: Participate in the cleaning of furnace ash, support in raw material loading (such as lime kilns), and other operational tasks required according to the specific needs of the plant.

What you'll get

Competitive remuneration: Salary according to collective agreement of 21,000 - 25,000 — gross/annual.

Job stability: Initial temporary contract with a high possibility of permanent employment and incorporation into the client company's workforce. Rotating shift schedule:

Work organization in intensive morning shifts (6:00 to 14:00), afternoon shifts (14:00 to 22:00), and night shifts (22:00 to 6:00), with planned rotation that allows for personal time management.

Development and projection: Career and professional development opportunity within a leading company in the industrial sector.

Work environment: Joining a committed and highly qualified team of professionals, in a dynamic and industrial environment

Requirements

Own vehicle: It is essential to have your own means of transport to access the workplace (Monzón) during the assigned shifts.

Schedule flexibility and availability: Availability to work in a rotating shift system (morning, afternoon, and/or night).

Physical capacity and thermal resistance: Good physical condition and tolerance to perform heavy work in high-temperature environments, radiant heat, and with the use of high-protection Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

Minimum education: Compulsory Secondary Education (ESO), Intermediate Vocational Training (FPM) in the industrial branch (Mechanics, Electricity, Metal, Chemistry), or equivalent experience.

Experience: Previous experience (at least 1-2 years) in operational positions in heavy industry, metallurgy, electrochemical, foundries, or industrial furnace handling will be very positively valued.

Use of industrial tools: Handling of manual, pneumatic, and thermal tools (oxygen lances, torches, etc.).

Focus on safety: High commitment to compliance with occupational safety and hygiene regulations.

Teamwork and collaboration: Ability to coordinate in a team on the production line and support various operational areas when the plant requires it.

Resolution and proactivity: Ability to react quickly to unforeseen events during casting or furnace operations.
