Production Process Engineer - Internship (Modifiers)

Key Responsibilities

  • Support unit engineers in completing Process Safety action items, PHA recommendations, DHA recommendations, and associated closure activities.
  • Select and execute continuous improvement projects from engineer improvement logs that can be completed during the internship, including troubleshooting issues, collaborating with Operations, updating procedures, and implementing practical solutions.
  • Update and verify Process Safety Information (PSI), including Consequences of Deviation, Critical SOPs, and Tank Tables, ensuring information is validated against DCS data.
  • Develop and enhance SEEQ trends and dashboards to support daily troubleshooting, monitoring, and operational decision making.
  • Troubleshoot critical flow meters and instrumentation by reviewing ranges, verifying DCS configuration, and conducting field investigations with Operations personnel.
  • Present project findings, recommendations, and results to the Engineering and Operations teams.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with operators, engineers, and cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to work independently, coordinate meetings, and drive projects to completion with minimal supervision.
  • Quick learner with the ability to become proficient in plant software systems such as SEEQ, ShiftConnect, and Dataparc.
  • Demonstrates urgency, initiative, and a data-driven approach to problem solving.
  • Strong presentation skills and willingness to spend time in the field learning plant operations and interacting with personnel.
