Production Support Engineer, Java (Banking, 1-year renewable contract)

Key Responsibilities
- Provide Level 3 Production Support by investigating production incidents, performing root cause analysis, and resolving production defects.
- Develop, test, and implement code fixes and change requests (CRs), ensuring high-quality, production-ready solutions.
- Collaborate with development, platform, testing, business, and support teams to deliver timely resolutions and system enhancements.
- Review technical solutions and code, participate in defect triage, and coordinate code reviews and production deployments.
- Maintain project documentation in Jira and Confluence, and manage source code using Git.
- Take end-to-end ownership of production issues, from investigation through deployment and post-release validation.
- Guide and coordinate offshore development teams while driving continuous improvements to application stability and performance.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies, production releases, and major incident support when required.
Key Requirements
- 8–10 years of hands-on experience in Java/J2EE development, preferably within banking or financial services.
- Strong technical expertise in Java 8, Spring, Spring Boot, Microservices, Apache Camel, Spring Batch, Git, Maven, REST APIs, JSON/XML, and SOA.
- Experience designing, developing, and maintaining scalable, production-quality applications.
- Hands-on experience with Splunk, JUnit, Mockito, Linux/Bash scripting, and CI/CD or DevOps practices.
- Proven experience providing L2/L3 Production Support, including incident investigation, root cause analysis, defect resolution, production deployments, and SIT/UAT support.
- Good understanding of API development, enterprise integration, and distributed systems.
- Experience working in Agile environments with strong problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Willingness to support production releases, weekend deployments, and critical incidents when required.
- Experience with OpenText TeamSite or Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) is an added advantage.
