SUMMARY: The Production Support Technician supports manufacturing operations by maintaining production equipment, assisting in metal processing activities, performing quality testing, and ensuring work areas remain clean and organized. This position plays a critical role in supporting chain manufacturing, annealing operations, welding preparation, maintenance of metal purity testing equipment, and material handling activities while maintaining safety and quality standards.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Change oil in chain machines, wire-drawing machines, and other manufacturing equipment as needed.
- Filter used oil to recover precious-metal scrap and to prepare the oil for disposal or reuse.
- Clean, inspect, and test ovens to ensure proper operation using brushes, temperature gauges, and other testing equipment.
- Fill, maintain, and clean degreasing equipment.
- Collect and properly handle spent solvents for recycling and disposal.
- Process, roll, and prepare metal samples for testing.
- Perform metal purity testing and document results.
- Maintain adequate inventory of IPA (isopropyl alcohol) bottles and production supplies.
- Assist with cleaning chain utilizing degreasing processes.
- Support chain annealing operations by loading, monitoring, and processing materials.
- Spool finished chain products for subsequent manufacturing operations.
- Prepare iron components for welding by cleaning with acetone and other approved materials.
- Draw iron wire to specifications for welding applications.
- Clean strip materials using acetone in preparation for welding.
- Maintain clean production areas through sweeping and housekeeping activities.
- Follow all quality, environmental and safety procedures.
- Regular attendance and compliance with the Company's handbook policies and procedures.
