Production Technician

Description

YOU KNOW YOUR WAY AROUND A PLANT.
NOW PUT THAT TO WORK ON SOMETHING THAT MATTERS.

Most production roles ask you to keep the line running. This one asks you to keep the line running and help prove that plastic can be recycled forever.

At Samsara Eco, we’re using enzymes to break plastics and textiles back down to their building blocks, so they can be made into new products again and again. Packaging, clothing, airbags – you name it. No more landfill. Less reliance on fossil fuels. A genuinely circular loop.

It’s big, bold work. And it needs people on the ground who know how to run it.

THE ROLE...
As a Production Technician, you’ll be hands-on with the equipment that turns our science into scale. You’ll work as part of a team running and monitoring our production plant, keeping things safe and efficient, and helping us adapt as new equipment comes online. You’ll be the person who notices when something’s not quite right – and helps make it better.

A DAY IN YOUR SHOES...

  • Running and monitoring pumps, valves, reactors and control systems – keeping an eye on temperature, pressure, flow and levels
  • Doing regular equipment checks and basic maintenance, and flagging faults early
  • Working through the process with the team, from raw materials to final product, and keeping accurate batch records
  • Checking materials and product against quality standards
  • Following SOPs and checklists, and keeping safety front of mind
  • Working alongside engineers, lab, maintenance and quality to troubleshoot and trial improvements

WHAT YOU’LL BRING...

  • Hands-on experience in a plant, production, manufacturing or operations role – chemical, food, water, pharma, mining, packaging or similar
  • A safety-first mindset and a habit of following procedures properly
  • A good eye for detail and the confidence to speak up when something looks off
  • Comfortable with numbers, record keeping and everyday computer use (email, Excel, Word)
  • A team player who’s keen to learn

Bonus points (but not essential)...

  • Experience in a chemical or process environment
  • Reading PFDs or P&IDs
  • Exposure to quality systems or working with control systems

Don’t tick every box? Apply anyway. If you’ve run equipment, followed a process and cared about getting it right, we’d like to hear from you.

WHY SAMSARA ECO...

  • Work that counts – Every batch you run is a step toward repairing the planet.
  • People who care – Scientists, engineers and operators who are genuinely invested in getting this right.
  • Room to own it – A flat structure where your ideas carry weight.
  • A life outside work – Flexible arrangements, competitive pay and benefits that actually help.
  • Ground floor energy – We’re scaling something new. You’ll help shape how it’s done.

THE DETAILS...
📍 Jerrabomberra, on the NSW/ACT border – about 30 minutes from Canberra CBD
✅ You’ll need a valid visa to work in Australia (sponsorship isn’t available for this role)

WE ARE AN EQUAL OPPORTUNITY EMPLOYER...
We hire on merit, full stop. If you need any adjustments during the recruitment process, just let us know.
