Production Worker - 1st Shift - Puyallup, WA
Position Summary
The Production Worker will be responsible for efficiently and safely setting up and operating the various pieces of production equipment within the facility. An operator in this position is expected to work in a hands-on fashion, to take ownership of the quality and quantity of product produced during their shift.
Shift: Monday-Friday 6:00am-2:30pm
Pay: $21-$25/hour
Essential Responsibilities

Sets up, adjusts, and operates equipment including drill presses, lathes, shapers, routers, planers, and wood-nailing machines needed to shape, profile, turn or otherwise fabricate products made from wood material.

Produces and inspects wood stair products by using hand tools or automated machinery, such as computerized numerical control (CNC) machines.

Reads work orders and examines product specifications to determine setup procedures, material to be used, and proper run sequence.

Verifies characteristics of materials in process, using gauges, rulers, calipers, templates, schedules, and work instructions to ensure conformance to specifications.

Inspects material for defects prior to and after processing.

Ensures processes are achieving goals for output, downtime, and scrap.

Accurately reports production activity through system transactions, written documents, and reports.

Identifies and communicates machine maintenance and / or performance issues.

Ensures proper guarding and safety devices are functioning and in use.

Will be responsible to train new hires or new departmental transfers.

Provides coverage as needed in other areas within or outside of the department.

May work overtime, alternate shifts and weekends as needed on short notice.

Performs other tasks as assigned.
