Professional Engineer
The Professional Engineer oversees the design and structural engineering of building projects for Whole House Engineering (WHE). This role involves leading the design process, performing complex structural analyses, ensuring compliance with building codes, and coordinating with architects, contractors, and other stakeholders to deliver safe and functional structures. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of materials, load analysis, and building techniques, particularly in the context of residential construction. Essential Functions
- Develop a working knowledge of company products, procedures, culture, and customer service philosophy.
- Lead Structural Design Projects
- Coordinate with architects, truss manufacturers, MEP trades, general contractors, and field project managers to ensure alignment on structural requirements.
- Perform detailed analysis of building components to evaluate loading cases, materials, and design efficiency.
- Conduct field inspections to assess the condition of existing structures and provide recommendations for repairs or modifications.
- Prepare reports, specifications, construction drawings, schedules, and detailed designs for review and approval.
- Manage project timelines and schedules to ensure all tasks are completed within the scope, time, and budget.
- Research and review building codes, zoning laws, and permitting requirements for specific project sites.
- Engage with clients to understand their needs, provide updates, and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Review work performed by others for structural engineering requirements, code compliance, etc.
Miscellaneous / Additional
- Train, coach, and mentor junior engineers and members of the project team in structural concepts and calculations.
- Stay updated with the latest structural engineering codes such as ASCE 7, ACI, IBC, and FBC.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
