Professional Senior, Engineering, Structural and Systems Installation Design

What are your contributions to the team?

  • Provide engineering solutions for airframe and systems installation issues to support production operations on Bombardier Global platform aircraft (5500/6500/8000) in Mississauga and other production sites.
  • Perform mechanical design using CATIA V5 and produce and update Interface, detail and installation drawings for work packages under your responsibility.
  • Collaborate with internal and external suppliers, disciplines such as Stress, Materials & Processes, Systems, Flight Science, Design, Methods, Quality and Operations to achieve the company’s technical and business objectives.
  • Support design and program reviews with partners/suppliers and status projects for functional management.
  • Participate in projects that aim to increase productivity, reduce waste, and improve financial performance.
  • Plan and adhere to project schedule deadlines while respecting allocated budgets.
  • Lead projects and support development of colleagues.

How to thrive in this role?

  • You have a Bachelors or Master’s degree in Aeronautical or Mechanical Engineering with a minimum of 10 years of experience in airframe primary and secondary structural design including systems installations.
  • You have knowledge of CATIA V5 design and modeling software.
  • You have strong knowledge of aircraft structure/system installation design with proper consideration of materials, manufacturing processes, civil aircraft certification rules and experience in certification procedures.
  • You have design experience with machined parts and sheet metal parts design and fabrication.
  • You have a strong sense of responsibility, good practical and technical judgment and are flexible.
  • You demonstrate dynamism, good listening skills and a strong interest in teamwork.
  • You can manage priorities and work under pressure to meet design deadlines.
  • You have working knowledge of Microsoft Office software such as Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Teams.
