PROFESSIONAL SERVICES MANAGER

• 6-Month Fixed-Term Contract

Take ownership of an established Professional Services function delivering complex enterprise software implementations.

This is a senior people and capability leadership role sitting within the broader Delivery leadership team. You’ll lead two experienced managers who oversee the wider consulting workforce, making sure the function has the right capability, capacity and leadership to support customer delivery.

The team and operating model are already established. You are not being brought in to redesign the function. The opportunity is to step into an important leadership seat, keep a large consulting capability performing well and maintain momentum across the initiatives already underway.

You’ll work closely with the Head of Delivery and other senior Delivery leaders across workforce planning, capability, resourcing, team performance and broader delivery priorities.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

• Lead the Professional Services function during a six-month maternity leave period
• Coach and support two direct reports who lead the broader consulting team
• Maintain a strong, engaged and capable Professional Services workforce
• Own visibility across capacity, demand, skills and capability
• Make sure the right consulting resources are available to support customer delivery
• Lead performance, development, promotion and capability conversations across the function
• Continue the people and capability initiatives already underway
• Provide guidance on escalated people, performance and resourcing issues
• Work closely with senior Delivery leaders on wider priorities and workforce requirements
• Represent Professional Services in Delivery leadership and planning discussions
• Maintain strong standards, team health and delivery capability throughout the contract

Customer engagement is occasional rather than the core of the role. You may support senior customer discussions or escalations where Professional Services input is required, but the primary focus is leading the function and its people.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

• Experience leading a sizeable Professional Services, consulting or implementation function
• Strong people leadership, ideally with managers or team leads reporting to you
• Experience managing capability, performance, career development and team engagement
• Strong workforce planning and resourcing experience across capacity, demand and skills
• Experience supporting multiple concurrent enterprise customer engagements
• Commercial awareness around utilisation, delivery capacity and customer commitments
• Confidence operating with senior Delivery and business leaders
• Experience in enterprise SaaS, software implementation, consulting or technology services
• A practical leadership style and the ability to step into an established environment quickly
