Professor
The Economics Department at Tulane University along with the Stone Center for Latin American Studies invites nominations and applications for the Samuel Z. Stone Chair in Economics, beginning July 2027.
The Department of Economics in the School of Liberal Arts emphasizes applied policy analysis in development and poverty, education and labor, health, and public finance, and maintains a strong partnership with Tulane’s interdisciplinary Latin Americanist community through the Stone Center. The Stone Chair will build on these strengths by advancing research on Latin American economies, training future specialists, and supporting Louisiana’s efforts to strengthen economic ties with the region. We seek a distinguished researcher and educator to deepen understanding of Latin American economies and enhance the department’s and university’s regional focus.
Review of applications will begin immediately and continue until the position is filled. Applications should be submitted through Tulane Careers and include a letter of interest, curriculum vitae, selected working papers, and three references. Nominations or inquiries may be directed to Felix Rioja (frioja@tulane.edu).
