Program Analyst

About the Position: Serves as a Program Analyst in the Management Support Branch or a field project office performing analytical and evaluative work on various aspects of the Operations Division's operating and budgetary programs.

Perform analytical and evaluative work on the development and execution of all budgetary program phases.

Forecast funding needed to support annual work plan objectives using current and historical data.

Analyze requests for funds to ensure effective planning and adherence to program cost and schedule.

Compile, analyze, and summarize financial data for the organization's basic expenses.

Analyze and evaluate data to identify actual or potential problems and trends.

Apply analytical and evaluative techniques to identify and resolve procedural or factual issues.

Accomplish a wide variety of assignments concerning the effectiveness and efficiency of programs and operations.

Use conventional methods to gather, analyze, and evaluate information concerning management processes to draw conclusions.

Advise supervisors of deficiencies by comparing proposed versus actual accomplishments.

Provide managers with objectively based information for making decisions on administrative and programmatic operations.

Prepare reports on program and budget progress and make recommendations to modify goals and objectives.

Conduct interviews with supervisors and employees to obtain information about organizational missions, functions, and work procedures.

Participate with management in preparing detailed plans, budgets, and schedules for assigned programs.

Monitor the program execution phase for the current year.

Perform internal management support services in program cost monitoring and annual fiscal planning.

Present findings in narrative reports that include the issue, background, observations, and recommended actions.
