Position Summary

The Digital Communications Program Coordinator creates graphic designs, photos, videos, and multimedia production work in support of the Department's communications and public outreach activities. Working under the guidance of the Communications and Digital Services team producing visual content for websites, social media, publications, presentations, emails, and internal communications.

This is a hands-on production position intended for individuals interested in developing skills in graphic design, photography, videography, accessibility, and digital communications. The Department provides on-the-job training and professional development opportunities.

Primary Responsibilities

• Design social media graphics, flyers, brochures, reports, presentations, web graphics, email graphics, and other communications materials.

• Update existing templates and promotional materials.

• Photograph department meetings, events, ceremonies, outreach activities, and employee recognition events.
• Record and edit short videos for social media, websites, presentations, and internal communications
• Assist in creating visual content for department websites, intranet pages, and social media.
• Create accessible digital communications.
• Participate in training related to accessibility and digital communications.
• Organize and maintain digital libraries of photographs, videos, graphics, and templates.
• Assist with maintaining photography, video, and lighting equipment.
• Coordinates and monitors assigned program activities to ensure effective operations and compliance with established standards.
• Review and analyze data concerning social media to determine progress and effectiveness, to make recommendations for changes
• Updates external and internal website content as needed.

An external candidate recommended for a position with the Department of Revenue will be subject to a background check that includes checks for\: state and federal tax compliance; child support compliance; education verification; Massachusetts CORI checks; criminal background checks in state(s) of current and previous residence/employment; validation of eligibility to work in the United States; and national fingerprint-based criminal background checks.
