Program Director - Tompkins

$60,000-65,000 a year

Position Summary: The PYEP (Positive Youth Engagement Program) Program provides individualized care to youth transitioning from program-supported activities to community involvement, by building confidence, reducing reliance on formal supports, and strengthening natural connections. These structured and community-embedded experiences promote skill development, self-esteem, and stability while reducing risk factors associated with out-of-home placement and supporting long-term community integration.
Responsibilities:
  • Program implementation and oversight of operations, ensuring high-quality services are delivered in compliance with NYS OCFS and DSS regulations
  • Initiate, develop and implement valid, innovative best practice programming consistent with progressive trends, directions and research. Continuously monitor, evaluate and enhance all programming
  • Lead, support, and train staff through coaching, motivation, supervision, and professional development.
  • Ensure documentation and reporting is completed accurately and on time
  • Coordinate youth-centered team meetings, ensuring team collaboration and fostering a supportive, communicative atmosphere
  • Continuously maintain and enhance positive relationships with recipients of service as well as local human service providers and community stakeholders

Requirements

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree - required

Experience:

  • 2 years experience in Human Service field required
  • Experience with youth mental health strongly preferred
  • Driver's License and ability to maintain insurability throughout employment required.
