The Director of the Uniforms Management Center (UMC) provides overall leadership for the planning, development, execution, and evaluation of the U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) uniforms program, ensuring alignment with CBP, Enterprise Services, Office of Facilities and Asset Management, Asset and Administrative Management Division, and DHS mission priorities. UMC ensures CBP law enforcement personnel have cost effective uniforms and uniform gear and responsibly delivers CBP uniform lifecycle management, mission-enabling uniform solutions, and services that increase agent and officer safety to ensure a dependable, professional image in support of the CBP mission. This position starts at a salary of $147,945.00 (GS-15, Step 1) to $192,331.00 (GS-15, Step 10). GS Salary: Visit this link to view the locality pay tables by geographic area. Typical work assignments include: Establishing program vision, strategy, goals, performance measures, policies, and procedures for the full uniforms lifecycle (requirements, design, testing, quality assurance, contracting, production, inventory, distribution, and disposition). Managing the DHS uniform contract and uniform program to include 10 uniform components, over 1,800 uniform items, and over 130,000 uniformed employees. Serving as the enterprise program management subject matter expert for DHS on matters related to DHS uniform requirements. Providing authoritative program-level guidance and strategic direction to the White House, Members of Congress and their staff, and other Government oversight agencies to include Office of Management and Budget. Ensuring compliance with ethics, procurement integrity, and financial management rules, and promoting an environment of accountability and professional conduct.
