Oversee global health engagement programs for a U.S. military command, coordinating medical security cooperation plans and managing a $300-600K annual portfolio.
About the Position: The incumbent serves as the primary subject-matter expert and advisor to the Command Surgeon for the development and execution of Global Health Engagement (GHE) planning and management within the command's area of responsibility (AOR).
Serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for theater security cooperation programs within the Command Surgeon's Office.
Manage the M2M medical portfolio for the Command Surgeon's sponsored medical security cooperation engagements ($300-600K annually).
Serve as the principal staff officer to develop the Health Security Cooperation Plan (HSCP) in support of the USAFRICOM Campaign Plan (ACP) to reach country specific and regional health objectives.
Review overseas humanitarian, disaster, and civic aid project proposals related to health engagement for the Command Surgeon via use of the overseas humanitarian assistance shared information system.
Analyze GHE requirements and request appropriate funding and personnel resources, forces, logistics, information technology, and capabilities.
Coordinate HSCP strategy with medical operations and exercise planners to plan key medical participation in exercises occurring within the USAFRICOM AOR.
Develop and present information papers, talking points, briefing materials, and other documents to the Command Surgeon, senior leaders, components, and others.
