We are seeking an experienced Program Manager – Hardware Engineering to lead the development and execution of next-generation Android XR Glasses Hardware Platforms. The ideal candidate will drive cross-functional collaboration across engineering, product, operations, and external manufacturing partners to deliver high-quality consumer hardware products on schedule and within budget.
This role requires strong expertise in hardware program management, new product introduction (NPI), product development lifecycle, phase-gate processes, stakeholder management, and consumer electronics.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end development of Android XR glasses hardware platforms, driving overall program execution and strategic initiatives.
- Manage cross-functional teams to design, build, validate, and launch innovative hardware solutions.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate development risks to achieve project milestones, cost objectives, and manufacturability goals.
- Drive product development activities through all phase-gate reviews and ensure alignment across engineering and operations teams.
- Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, resource plans, and program roadmaps.
- Communicate project status, risks, dependencies, and key milestones to senior leadership and stakeholders.
- Lead the resolution of critical technical and program-related issues.
- Collaborate with development partners, suppliers, and manufacturing teams to manage product builds, schedules, budgets, and overall performance.
- Continuously improve development processes to increase efficiency and product quality.
- Manage overall program budgets and ensure effective resource utilization.
- Build and maintain strategic relationships with JDM/OEM partners to support long-term product development initiatives.
- Support hardware New Product Introduction (NPI) activities from prototype through mass production.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, or related discipline).
- Minimum 5 years of experience in Hardware Program Management, Technical Program Management, Team Leadership, or Product Design Engineering.
- Experience in Consumer Electronics Hardware development.
- Strong understanding of Product Development Lifecycle and Phase-Gate Processes.
- Experience managing Hardware NPI (New Product Introduction) and production builds.
- Ability to travel internationally up to 20% based on business requirements.
