About the role

This role will be responsible for transforming strategic growth opportunities into executable business initiatives by coordinating market validation, business case development, investment planning, capability implementation, and cross-functional execution.

The successful candidate will serve as the primary leader responsible for advancing ECI's roadmap from concept through commercialization while working closely with Operations, Business Development, Laboratory Services, Finance, Quality, Customers, local government agencies and authorities, and Executive Leadership.

What you'll do

Strategic Roadmap Execution

· Lead execution of ECI's Costa Rica Laboratory capability expansion roadmap.

· Develop and maintain strategic implementation plans.

· Establish milestones, budgets, risks, and resource requirements.

· Monitor progress and report status to executive leadership.

· Coordinate and lead monthly governance reviews and investment decisions.

Business Case Development

· Conduct opportunity assessments and market evaluations.

· Develop business cases supporting new capability investments.

· Evaluate market demand, revenue potential, ROI, and strategic fit.

· Support capital investment planning and prioritization.

Market Intelligence & Industry Engagement

· Build relationships with organizations such as CINDE, PROCOMER, industry associations, customers, and strategic partners.

· Identify emerging trends in medical devices, life sciences, testing services, sustainability, reliability engineering, and digital health.

· Translate market intelligence into actionable growth opportunities.

Cross-Functional Program Leadership

· Lead multidisciplinary teams consisting of:

o Operations

o Laboratory Services

o Engineering

o Quality

o Business Development

· Drive alignment among stakeholders and facilitate decision making.

· Manage risks, dependencies, and execution challenges.

Capability Launch & Commercialization

· Support development of new service offerings.

· Coordinate implementation readiness plans for new capabilities.

· Work with Business Development teams to support go-to-market strategies.

· Define success metrics and monitor post-launch performance.

Executive Communication

· Prepare executive-level presentations and recommendations.

· Present business cases, investment requests, and program updates to Senior Leadership.

· Provide clear visibility of roadmap progress and strategic risks.

What you will bring

·

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Business Administration, Life Sciences, Supply Chain, Operations Management, or related field.
• Master's Degree (MBA or equivalent), PMP Certification, Agile, Scrum, Lean Six Sigma, or equivalent project management certifications
• Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in Medical Devices, Life Sciences, Engineering Services, Manufacturing, Product Development, Operations Strategy, or related industries.
• Minimum 5 years leading complex cross-functional programs, strategic initiatives, business transformations, product transfers, new product introductions, or capability development projects.
• Experience leading large-scale strategic initiatives involving multiple business functions
• Experience supporting executive leadership teams and investment decision processes.
• Experience working in multinational medical device or life sciences organizations.

• Spanish: Native Speaker / English: Fluent speaking, writing and reading.
