Job Summary
A Program Manager in manufacturing oversees cross-functional initiatives to ensure production goals, quality standards, and timelines are met efficiently and cost-effectively. Drives continuous improvement to meet customer, quality, and operational goals, ensuring the team consistently performs to established standards.
Responsibilities
- Develop and manage program timelines and resource requirements to meet production and quality goals
- Coordinate cross-functional teams including engineering, production, supply chain, and quality assurance to align project objectives
- Lead new product introductions (NPI), manufacturing readiness, and ramp-up activities to ensure smooth transitions
- Monitor program progress, identify risks, and report status updates to leadership and stakeholders
- Act as secondary escalation point for program-related communications internally and externally to resolve issues promptly
- Translate customer requirements into clear program deliverables through collaboration with engineering and operations teams
- Facilitate resolution of capacity, supply chain, and quality issues to maintain production flow
- Identify and mitigate risks in production schedules, supply chain, and logistics by developing effective strategies
- Manage program budgets, cost targets, and change requests while ensuring compliance with manufacturing quality standards and regulatory guidelines
- Track and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) such as on-time delivery, order processing, and customer complaint logs to drive continuous improvement
- Lead and manage the program team to achieve high productivity and meet performance targets
Required competencies and certifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Business, or related field
- Minimum 5–10 years of experience in manufacturing or operations, including at least 3 years in program or project management
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes, supply chain logistics, and quality systems such as First Article (FA), Production Part Approval Process (PPAP), Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA), and Engineering Change Notice (ECN)
