Summary
The Program Manager serves as a Branch Chief for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, overseeing a team of 30-40 employees to manage the planning, design, and construction of military-funded projects. About the Position: As Branch Chief, the incumbent directs the work of approximately 30-40 employees involved in activities associated with managing the planning, design, and construction of projects in one or more primary mission areas. Position duty location is Louisville, Kentucky.
Plans and schedules work to be accomplished by the team and coordinates work of employees.
Sets priorities and prepares schedules for work completion; confers with heads of other units to negotiate and/or coordinate work-related changes.
Assigns work to subordinates based on priority, difficulty, and employees capabilities; assures that workload and project responsibilities are specifically delegated and assigned to project managers and budget analysts.
Oversees preparation of Project Management Plans (PMP), which become the District's blueprint for executing and financing military projects.
Serves as point-of-contact and authoritative source of information and advice to customers and to district technical elements regarding military-funded projects in various stages of completion.
Assures compliance with project schedule and costs by all elements involved in project execution and directs revision of those schedules as appropriate.
Controls project funds in accordance with the PMP; allocates funds to participating elements and revises fund requirements as appropriate.
