Program Specialist (EMRS Specialist)
If selected for this position, you'll be working with the Emergency Management Response System (EMRS), the information system used in the event of an animal disease outbreak. Your efforts will help support incident management tasks such as dispatch, mobilization, task tracking, surveillance, data analysis and incident status reporting.
The duties described are for the full-performance level. At developmental grade levels, assignments will be of more limited scope, performed with less independence and limited complexity.
The duties may include, but are not limited to:
Serves as a subject matter expert on EMRS, assuring that the information system is consistently utilized in line with the Agency's objectives
Provides technical advice to the EMRS National Coordinator in formulating short-and long-range plans, based on program and user requirements
Identifies, analyzes, and makes recommendations from the field perspective for development of proposed and current EMRS policy
Provides technical expertise to EMRS users for the implementation and application of EMRS in their assigned area
Assures that data needed to support program decision-making, meaningful analysis and statistical reporting can be efficiently captured
Collaborates with incident command staff to provide support for data and information tracking requirements
Communicates with federal, state, and industry stakeholders to facilitate emergency response activities
