Program Support Assistant

Major Duties Include, but are not limited to: Collects, compiles, and tracks statistical information in support of program operations to access status or outcomes in relation to established performance measures, goals, and objectives, receives and processes documents and reports in accordance with established procedures; uses software applications to draw information from a wide variety of sources in order to prepare reports; and assists in the planning, review, and reporting of data/statistical results of program studies. Responsible for helping to assure that all staff members are aware of current decision support system (DSS) codes for HT and names of clinics utilized by program. Utilizes statistical data to compile monthly workload reports for apprised of patient census and any changes or problem that might be encountered. Participates in performance improvement activities related to the program quality improvement process and offers performance improvement advice to program staff. Responsible for providing data/reports related to the administrative , clinical and technical aspects of HT to the VISN 6 Network Office and HT Program. Nature of Assignment: Knowledge of the duties, priorities, commitments, policies, and program goals of the staff sufficient to perform non-routine assignments, and ability to recognize which information is or is not relevant to the problem at hand Knowledge of the board range of patient care and administrative services at the Medical Center in order to plan, implement, carry out, and advise on various activities relative to quality management and improvement Ability to analyze and solve problems in a positive, goal oriented manner and to make clear well-defined recommendations Knowledge of basic financial procedures and processes; and the ability to track a wide variety of program expenses and manage the budget. Knowledge and skills in the use of computer equipment with a wide variety of software such as word, excel, power point, outlook, access, and VHA databases. Customer Service: Meets the needs of customers while supporting VA missions. Consistently communicates and treats customers (Veterans, their representatives, visitors, and all VA staff) in a courteous tactful, and respectful manner.
