The position serves as an administrative staff resource to the regional Mobile Prosthetic & Orthotic Care (MoPOC) program, which is a VHA Office of Rural Health Enterprise-Wide Initiative.

Major Duties: Assist leadership in monitoring implementation of the strategic plan and performance plan, ensures the conduct of critical communications, and aids in the sustainment of performance improvement gains. Responsible for designing, managing and modifying plans and systems to maximize efficiencies of mobile clinical staff. Responsible for designing, managing, and modifying plans and systems to increase managerial effectiveness of leadership as this program evolves and expands. Assist leadership in monitoring implementation of the strategic plan and performance plan, ensures the conduct of critical communications, and aids in the sustainment of performance improvement gains. Apply project management principles to support leadership activities. Provide staff assistance in the area of planning as it relates to strategic plans for program development and implementation. Function as a valuable resource in quality assessment, performance improvement, interdisciplinary care models, and special projects. Facilitate MoPOC implementation at new sites by providing support in processes of recruitment, hiring, equipment acquisition, data collection, and training. Build and manage several clinics electronically using existing administrative software tools, as well as coordinate the availability and management of clinical space for clinicians in up to six remote locations, along with patient home visits and other off-site patient visits as needed (e.g., assisted living facility). Have a working knowledge of health care delivery principles, practices and programs and be able to apply this knowledge in the practical function of program administration. Track and reviewing Network and national objectives in order to serve as an informed source to the leadership, clinicians, and facility supervisors. Provide administrative support and advice to the Program Manager, Program Coordinator, and clinical staff as needed on functions related to rules and regulations, patient care issues, budget, and program policy. Promotion Potential: The selectee may be promoted to the full performance level without further competition when all regulatory, qualification, and performance requirements are met. Selection at a lower grade level does not guarantee promotion to the full performance level.
