PROGRAM SUPPORT STAFF
Qualifications
Must have experience in a Residential Program. Bachelor’s Degree in one of the behavioral sciences and two years experience in a residential program is preferred. An Associate’s Degree Or High School Diploma and three years experience in a residential program may be acceptable. Experience or demonstrated ability working with adolescents in crisis who have been placed by DMH, DCFS, or Probation is also preferred. Proficient in Microsoft Word is also preferred.
Responsible to: Program Support Supervisor
Duties
Under the direct supervision of the Program Support Supervisor, the Program Support Staff insures the harmonious and safe daily conduct and overall care and well-being of the adolescents placed at Bourne Family Services in accordance with Bourne’s treatment program guidelines. The duties include, but are not necessarily limited to, the following:

Participation in daily peer accountability groups.

Familiarity with all client files.

Provide one-on-one support for residents who may need it.

Maintaining accurate logs and documentation for residents needing one- on-one, crisis management, restraints, child abuse reporting and any other forms/documents necessary for behavioral/crisis situations.

Maintenance of current treatment plans and goal sheets for all clients on the caseload.

Cooperates and participates with the treatment team to plan effective interventions for residents, particularly those in crisis.

Participates and/or lead crisis interventions, as necessary.

Continuously access the tone of the facility, make rounds throughout the shift and aid where necessary.

Communicate overall tone of the facility to the Program Support Supervisor.

Interface with representatives of outside agencies during and after crisis (i.g. PMRT, Emergency Services, DCFS, Emergency Hotline) as necessary.

Assist Direct Care Staff with transportation to/from appointments, court, DCFS Office and hospital when needed.

Attending staff meetings and in-service training.

May act as a liaison to resident’s authorized representatives, community residents, school personnel, law enforcement and others as needed.

Monitoring family visits.

Role-modeling behavior to the residents and being non-judgmental with families

Any other duties as assigned.
