THE OPPORTUNITY
This is a rare early-career opportunity to run the programme of one of the most connected real estate networks in Hong Kong. Working directly with the Executive Director, you will plan and deliver our events, own our marketing and communications, and work face to face with the senior leaders of Hong Kong's real estate, planning, and land use community: developers, investors, architects, public officials, and academics.
You will not be a small cog in a large machine. ULI Hong Kong is a lean two-person team, which means real ownership from day one, direct access to the Chair and Executive Committee, and the chance to shape how the council grows. If you have a few years of solid events, programme, or membership experience and want a step up in responsibility, visibility, and purpose, this role will stretch you in the best way.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Plan and deliver the council's programme of work with the Executive Director: networking and educational events on real estate trends, sustainability and livability, housing, infrastructure, and capital markets.
- Run our signature programmes, including the Young Leaders Group, NEXT, UrbanPlan, and the Women's Leadership Initiative, and support policy and practice initiatives and advisory panels.
- Own event logistics end to end: speakers, venues, vendors, on-site staffing, AV, signage, photography, and marketing collateral.
- Create and manage our marketing and communications: the local website, newsletters, membership directories, press releases, and event promotion.
- Support our volunteer committees: help them set goals, keep them moving, and capture and distribute minutes for the Executive Committee and other committees.
- Track budgets, expenses, and revenues for the council and its programmes, and support sponsorship and membership growth.
- Help the Executive Director build relationships with nonprofits, public agencies, community leaders, universities, and professional groups across Hong Kong.
WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE
- Our events run smoothly and feel polished, and members leave saying it was worth their time.
- Our communications are consistent, professional, and drive attendance and engagement.
- Committee volunteers feel supported and follow through on their commitments.
- Membership involvement and sponsorship support grow year on year.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
You do not need to have done all of this before. We are looking for someone with strong foundations who is ready to grow into the full scope of the role.
- 2-5 years of experience in event planning, programme coordination, membership organizations, nonprofits, or a related field.
- Fluency in English and Cantonese.
- Strong writing skills and confident, professional communication with senior business and public-sector executives.
- Excellent organization and time management: able to juggle multiple concurrent programmes with responsible follow-through.
- Comfort working with volunteers and getting things done through influence rather than authority.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint); Canva, Photoshop, or graphic design skills are a plus.
- An interest in real estate, land use, or urban development. Direct industry experience is a plus, not a requirement: we will teach you the industry.
- A BA degree is preferred; a degree in urban planning, public administration, or real estate development is a plus.
- Some travel within the region may be required.
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
The salary range for this role is HKD 384,932 to 418,613 per year, with placement in the range based on experience. ULI offers a robust benefits package including health, dental, and life insurance, vacation, and a retirement plan, together with the learning, network, and profile that come from working at the centre of Hong Kong's land use community.
HOW TO APPLY
Please submit a resume and a short letter of interest telling us about an event or programme you are proud of and why this role appeals to you.
