We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as a Programme Manager, Singapore GCOO

We’re seeking a senior Programme Manager to lead critical, enterprise-wide initiatives within the Singapore Group Chief Operating Officer (GCOO) Transformation team. The role will support a diverse portfolio, including entity migration, AI and platform enablement, process simplification and regulatory change. This is a strategic delivery role, accountable for shaping programme direction, driving execution, managing interdependencies and ensuring that benefits are realised and embedded. Given the breadth and complexity of the portfolio, the successful candidate must be capable of leading significant initiatives across different transformation domains.

The role will operate across International Wealth and Premier Banking (IWPB), Corporate and Institutional Banking (CIB) and relevant GCOO functions, bringing together senior stakeholders, business requirements, operational insight and data-led analysis to deliver sustainable outcomes at scale.

The GCOO organisation provides group-wide operational leadership, translating HSBC’s strategy into priorities and transformation programmes that enable the bank to operate safely, efficiently and consistently. Its remit includes process excellence and simplification, technology and operational enablement, controls and operational resilience, major change and programme delivery, performance and capacity management, and cross-business alignment.

In this role you will:

  • Lead complex, cross-functional programmes from planning and diagnosis through implementation, adoption and benefits realisation.
  • Establish programme objectives, governance, delivery milestones, dependencies, resourcing requirements and success measures.
  • Direct the design and implementation of target-state processes, operating models and supporting controls.
  • Hold workstream owners and delivery partners accountable for milestones, outcomes, risks and benefit commitments.
  • Build effective relationships across businesses, functions, technology, risk, controls and operations.
  • Represent relevant transformation initiatives at senior GCOO and CEO governance forums.
  • Provide concise, outcome-focused updates on progress, benefits, risks, dependencies, decisions required and emerging issues.
  • Influence senior stakeholders through clear recommendations, constructive challenge and strong strategic judgement.

To be successful you will need:

  • Typically 10-12 years’ experience in programme management, process excellence, operational improvement or business transformation within financial services or another complex, highly regulated environment.
  • A strong track record of leading enterprise-level or cross-functional transformation programmes through implementation, adoption and benefits realisation.
  • Experience managing portfolios of interdependent initiatives and shaping roadmaps across multiple business and functional areas.
  • The ability to translate complex analysis into practical decisions, prioritised actions and measurable business outcomes.
  • Familiarity with process mining and analytics tools, such as Celonis, Python or comparable platforms.
  • Experience engaging senior executives and presenting effectively at governance forums.
  • Strong strategic judgement, with the ability to balance value, risk, regulatory expectations, capacity and organisational readiness.
  • Excellent stakeholder management, communication and influencing skills across different business functions.
  • Experience leading or developing business analysts, programme managers or transformation practitioners.
  • Degree-level education or equivalent professional experience. MBA, MSP, PRINCE2, Lean/Six Sigma Black Belt or another relevant qualification would be advantageous.

Leadership attributes

  • Strategic, while remaining focused on delivery and measurable outcomes.
  • Comfortable managing complexity, ambiguity, interdependencies and competing priorities.
  • A constructive challenger who can question established practices and build commitment to change.
  • Collaborative and inclusive, with the ability to align diverse stakeholders.
  • Decisive, accountable and able to maintain momentum while managing risk responsibly.

You’ll achieve more when you join HSBC.
