In this position, you’ll work closely with Project Managers and internal teams to manage project billing, budgets, contracts, accounts receivable, change orders, and profitability. More than just processing numbers, you’ll help identify financial risks, resolve discrepancies, improve processes, and provide valuable insight that helps our projects stay on track and profitable.

SUMMARY:
Analyze and maintain all project-related contracts, budgets, billing, accounts receivable, change orders, and project profitability reports for assigned Project Managers. Review project financial reports with the project managers and identify areas of risk and ways to mitigate loss. The primary responsibility will be project billing, however; the Project Accountant will be expected to analyze and resolve accounting discrepancies and perform other duties assigned. The candidate should have a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and have a good understanding of general accounting principles.
Project Accountant Duties
· Review contracts and set up new clients/projects
· Bill projects monthly or in accordance with the clients’ and PMs’ direction
· Review WIP aging reports to ensure all necessary billing is done, change orders requested, etc.
· Prepare documentation for large write-offs
· Work with client systems to submit and correct billing and follow-up on any comments
· Maintain client-specific Excel worksheets for client-required reporting
· Assist with entry of project-related vendor invoices
