Project Analyst (5565)

SMX seeks a highly organized and proactive project analyst to aid our team and clients. Our team works closely with our clients to understand the mission and strategic objectives to illustrate how the systems support their business needs.

The ideal candidate will be a strong communicator and highly efficient in Microsoft 365, to include applications such as Outlook, Excel, Microsoft Teams, PowerPoint, and Word. This individual will work on multiple workstreams that support management functions and coordination of activities within the team and client interactions. This role requires significant coordination across many teams to gather and consolidate the relevant information so a desire and ability to work well with others is a must. This is a fast-changing role that evolves based on the client’s need, while prioritizing the operational needs to support the mission.

  • Provide comprehensive administrative support to the team with a focus on supporting client-facing activities (e.g. meeting coordination and documenting notes)
  • Support onboarding new hires to ensure completion of training/administrative tasks
  • Assist in managing client-related efforts, including tracking progress, deadlines, and deliverables, while ensuring clear communication with all stakeholders.
  • Attend meetings, take detailed and actionable notes, and ensure follow-up on key points and deliverables.
  • Draft, edit, and format presentations and documents for the team and client
  • Communicate effectively with a diverse group of stakeholders, from technical team members to senior leadership, ensuring clarity and alignment on project objectives and progress
  • Support operational activities for the team and client, to include modernization

Required Skills & Experience

  • Ability to be on-site 100% of the time at Ft. Belvoir, Virginia; currently partial telework exists, but is not guaranteed long-term
  • Active Top Secret security clearance with SCI
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, interpersonal skills, problem solving skills, organizational skills, and attention to detail
  • 3+ years of relevant experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365, to include the following applications: Outlook, Excel, Microsoft Teams, PowerPoint, and Word
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize effectively, and meet tight deadlines, especially in client-oriented environments
  • Ability to collaborate within the team cross-functionally in a rapidly changing mission-oriented work environment
  • Ability to perform duties with minimal supervision
  • Customer serving personality within a fast-paced environment
  • Have an ability to drive to multiple locations to support team and client needs
  • High degree of professionalism and ethical standards, with a commitment to delivering high-quality work

Desired Skills & Experience

  • Familiarity with Training Management Tool (TMT)/Enterprise Task Management Software Solution (ETMS2)
  • GFEBS Exposure


The SMX salary determination process takes into account a number of factors, including but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories, relevant prior work experience, specific skills, education and certifications. The proposed salary for this position is:
$72,000$121,000 USD
