Join Our Team as a Project Assistant (24 hours/week - 2 positions)
The Library is seeking detail-oriented Project Assistants to join the Digital Initiatives and Research Cluster (DIR). The successful candidates will play a vital role in supporting the Library’s digitization efforts and contributing to the preservation and accessibility of valuable materials beneficial to the archiving of Hong Kong culture and history as well as relevant research.
Responsibilities:
- Perform data indexing and metadata creation in accordance with established standards and guideline;
- Verify and proofread optical character recognition (OCR) outputs to ensure a high level of textual accuracy;
- Conduct various types of quality assurance checks on digitized contents;
- Handle digital files, organize and manage datasets, and maintain accurate records of the workflow progress; and
- Perform any other duties as assigned by supervisors.
Requirements:
- A diploma holder with at least two years of relevant experience or a fresh graduate with a Bachelor’s degree;
- Proficiency in Chinese word processing, Chinese typing, and comprehension of traditional Chinese characters;
- Ability to work with details, patience with repetitive work, and effective communication skills; and
- Must be able to work 24 hours per week (excluding lunch) that fall in normal office hours (8:00 am – 6:00 pm on weekdays).
This is a project-based position with a term of 1.5 years.
Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience, in the range of HK$8,037 – HK$11,446 per month.
