The Project Associate at Peepul is

The
Project Associate is a crucial role in fostering a successful partnership with
the Government of Madhya Pradesh and achieving the strategic objective of
Peepul to enhance the quality of education in India's public school system. The
Project Associate will lead and execute initiatives independently, focusing on
supporting and holding teachers and academic officials accountable. They will
combine educational expertise, creative problem-solving, and stakeholder
management to design, implement, and monitor high-quality projects aimed at
improving education in the state.
Responsibilities would include (including but not limited to):
To be a quality Science content developer aligned with organizational philosophy and system
needs:
- Create
and curate Science–specific educational content, including training
session plans, teaching modules, scripts, schema, lesson plans, and other
relevant resources for teachers in the government school system.
- Ensure
that all Science content is contextualized to the government school
environment and supports classroom implementation.
- Develop
content that aligns with educational standards, curriculum requirements, and
pedagogical best practices in Science.
- Conduct
thorough subject-specific research to ensure accuracy, relevance, and alignment
with current educational trends and practices in Science education.
- Analyze
teacher and student needs as well as feedback to refine and improve the quality
of Science content.
Strategizing and planning the key interventions under Teachers’ Capacity
Building:
- Design
and strategize comprehensive teacher capacity-building interventions in Science, including in-person and virtual workshops, training sessions, and
professional development initiatives, tailored to address identified gaps and
enhance classroom effectiveness.
- Stay
updated on the latest trends, resources, and pedagogical innovations in Science education and apply innovative approaches to enhance teacher engagement and learning outcomes.
- Create
documented reports of project/training implementations, design forms, and
prepare decks for Science–related events and training.
- Develop
Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to institutionalize processes and ensure
the quality of Science interventions.
- Codify
best practices and case studies in Science teaching to ensure knowledge
management and sharing within the organisation and with the wider sector.
To be a strong team collaborator and engage with key government
stakeholders:
- Work
closely with senior government stakeholders, academic teams, and teacher
trainers to design, develop, and implement Science–related
projects/interventions.
- Develop
and maintain strong operational relationships with government partners,
providing technical and subject matter leadership in Social Science/Science.
- Demonstrate
an in-depth understanding of the Indian K-12 Social Science/Science curriculum and
classroom realities in interactions with stakeholders (e.g., Government
counterparts).
To ensure the quality of
large-scale implementation with a focus on impact:
- Develop
systems to deliver agreed-upon Science content and training outputs,
with ownership for specific tasks, effective use of data, and clear
communication across the programme.
- Define
success metrics and growth aspirations for Science interventions and
communicate these effectively with all stakeholders (internal and external).
- Collaborate
with the in-house M&E team and external experts to develop appropriate
project evaluation tools for Science, including rigorous academic
assessments where relevant.
- Support and ideate on
the large-scale implementation of Science projects in close coordination
with Peepul’s education and training team, in consultation with Project
Manager(s) and Programme Manager(s).
Requirements
- Educational Background: A relevant educational background in Education with a strong understanding of Classroom Pedagogy and educational perspective is a must. Additional knowledge in Science, Social Work or Public Policy, or other related fields is an advantage.
- Work Experience: We value both professional and personal experience. Candidates should have 2-4 years of experience in the education sector, including at least 1yr year of classroom teaching experience in Science. The experience should include working in the implementation of educational initiatives in India with an understanding of the challenges of teachers and education system(s).
- Other Skills: Strong educational expertise and understanding of best practices in pedagogy, curriculum development, and teacher training and ability to plan, execute, and monitor initiatives effectively and independently.
- Language Proficiency: Fluent in reading and writing English and Hindi
