Project & Change Manager — Digital Transformation

Tasmanian Independent Retailers (TIR)

Location: TIR includes multiple sites in TAS - Head Office (Launceston), IFP & Brighton

Applications close: 30 August 2026

2-year fixed-term, full-time

Tasmanian Independent Retailers (TIR) is the retailer-owned co-operative behind IGA Tasmania and Island Fresh Produce (IFP) — supporting our members with everything from supplier trading and advertising to pricing, promotions and business growth. We're proudly Tasmanian, proudly member-owned, and proudly recognised as a 2025 Employer of Choice.

Tasmanian Independent Retailers (TIR) is undertaking a whole-of-business digital transformation, and we're looking for an experienced Project & Change Manager to lead it. Reporting directly to the CEO, you'll take our organisation from current-state systems through to a modern ERP platform — including digital commerce, customer self-service and warehouse mobility solutions — combining the discipline of project delivery with the people-side of genuine change adoption.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a structured, well-documented evaluation and selection process for a new ERP platform, including digital commerce and warehouse technology components

  • Develop the business case, cost-benefit analysis and risk profile to support the system investment decision

  • Establish project governance, budget, timeline and risk management frameworks for the full two-year term

  • Oversee solution design, configuration, testing, data migration and cutover in partnership with the vendor/implementation partner

  • Lead implementation of customer-facing digital platforms, including B2B ordering and digital returns solutions

  • Lead implementation of warehouse mobility solutions, including tablet-based picking and digital task management

  • Build and execute a change management plan that drives genuine user and customer adoption — stakeholder engagement, communications, training and measured success

  • Plan and lead a post-go-live stabilisation period to resolve issues quickly after implementation

  • Report regularly to the CEO, Board and project steering group on progress, budget, risk and decisions required

About You:

  • Proven experience leading ERP or major business system implementations, ideally end-to-end from selection through to go-live and stabilisation

  • Strong project management skills: scope, schedule, budget, risk and vendor management

  • Strong change management skills: stakeholder engagement, communications planning and training design and delivery

  • Formal certification and/or equivalent experience in project management and/or change management

  • Experience running vendor/system evaluation processes (RFPs or similar) and negotiating with implementation partners

  • Experience implementing digital commerce, customer self-service, warehouse management or supply chain technology solutions highly regarded

  • Excellent stakeholder and executive communication skills, including the ability to brief the CEO and Board

  • Ability to translate cross-functional business requirements into a coherent system and project plan

Culture and Benefits:

  • Flexible working environment

  • Company laptop

  • Employee Assistance Program (EAP)

  • Access to St Lukes corporate discount cover

  • Proudly recognised as a 2025 Employer of Choice
