The role
Some of the biggest challenges on major infrastructure projects come when things change. Scope evolves, assumptions move, interfaces cross over and decisions need to be made quickly, with a clear understanding of their impact.
As Project Change Manager, you'll play a key role in making sure that happens effectively on the Berwick Bank Offshore Wind Farm, helping the project understand, assess and control change throughout its lifecycle.
Reporting to the Project Services Manager, you'll take ownership of the project's change management process, working across package teams, engineering disciplines and contractors to make sure changes and interfaces are identified early, properly assessed and progressed through the right governance.
You'll also support Interface Management across the project and help develop robust change management practices more widely across SSE Renewables Offshore.
You will
- Own and continuously improve the project's change management approach, developing and maintaining the Change Management Procedure, Change Request process, Base Case Scope Summary and associated controls.
- Coordinate change across project packages and disciplines, ensuring changes to project assumptions are identified, captured, assessed and managed throughout the project lifecycle.
- Lead change reviews and approval meetings, bringing together the right technical, commercial and project stakeholders and ensuring agreed actions are progressed through to completion.
- Manage the connection between change, scope and interfaces, supporting the Project Scope of Work matrix, gap analysis and Interface Management Plan to identify ownership, dependencies, risks and potential gaps.
- Provide robust governance and assurance, ensuring change management meets Large Capital Projects requirements while contributing to risk management and helping develop consistent change procedures across SSE Renewables Offshore.
You have
-
Strong experience of project management, engineering, change control or change management within major capital, engineering or infrastructure projects, ideally gained in offshore wind, renewables, energy or another complex project environment.
- A strong understanding of major project delivery, including interfaces, scope, risk, quality, commercial considerations and project governance.
- Experience working across complex technical and contractual interfaces, with an understanding of how Work Breakdown Structures, Scope of Work matrices and contracting strategies support effective project delivery.
- The confidence to challenge constructively and influence decisions, working effectively with multidisciplinary project teams, contractors and senior stakeholders.
- Clear and credible communication skills, with the ability to take complex project information, identify what matters and present recommendations and decisions clearly at all levels.
