Description

At Alstom, we build what millions depend on daily - rail transportation systems that can’t afford to fail. We’re more than 80,000 people worldwide creating the industry’s most diverse portfolio: high-speed trains, metros, trams, maintenance services and integrated systems.

More than a job: a mission

We’re looking for a Senior Project Contract Manager to drive contract strategy and protect project value in complex, high-impact mobility projects. This role sits at the core of project delivery, ensuring commercial performance, mitigating risks, and enabling smarter decision-making.
You’ll work alongside people who show up with ownership, passion, and dedication - because they know what’s at stake: delivering infrastructure that connects cities.
Your role, your impact
• Lead proactive contract, claim and risk management strategies aligned with Alstom’s business objectives
• Ensure application of Alstom governance and the Contract, Claims and Insurance Management Manual (CCIM)
• Develop, implement and maintain the Contract/Claim Management Strategy Plan throughout the project lifecycle
• Manage variations, claims, extensions of time (EoTs), contract amendments and contractual notices
• Drive regular risk reviews and define mitigation strategies to protect project value
• Support negotiations with customers, partners and suppliers
• Monitor contractual obligations, milestones and overall project performance
• Prepare and manage documentation related to claims, disputes and litigation support
• Deliver training and guidance on contract and claim management to key stakeholders across projects
• Collaborate closely with project, engineering, sourcing, finance and legal teams to identify risks and maximize claim opportunities
You’ll work with sharp, committed teams across project management, engineering, finance and legal - solving complex contractual challenges that directly impact the success of major mobility projects.
What you bring
• Legal Degree ideally, or a Dual Degree including a Legal Degree
• Experience with local procurement law
• Strong experience in contract/claim management or project management, ideally 10+ years
• Fluency in Portuguese and English
• Ability to interpret complex contractual and technical documentation
• Experience in multinational engineering, infrastructure or transportation projects is a plus
• Spanish or French language skills are a plus
• Availability to travel approximately 20% to 30% of the time
How success is measured
• Achievement of Contract Management KPI objectives
• Effective management of claims, risks and contractual obligations
• Delivery of visible commercial and contractual results for projects
• Contribution of best practices in contract and claim management
• Added value and measurable impact delivered to project performance
Alstom, a great place to grow
• Enjoy stability, challenges and a long-term career free from boring daily routines
• Collaborate with transverse teams and helpful colleagues
• Contribute to innovative projects
• Utilise our cooperative working environment
• Steer your career in whatever direction you choose across functions and countries
• Benefit from our investment in your development, through award-winning learning
• Benefit from a fair and dynamic reward package that recognises your performance and potential, plus comprehensive and competitive social coverage

Here, progress isn’t always easy - the scale is massive, the challenges are complex - but the impact is real. Because when systems run and cities connect, your work makes the difference.
