Job Title : Project Controls Trainee
Location: In Country – Luanda
Functional/Discipline Area: CFO / Project Controls
Objectives / Scope
To deliver Project Controls Administration across projects to ensure accurate delivery of appropriate and specific project information to relevant clients.
Main Responsibilities
Ultimately to work towards the below as part of your development in the trainee role.
General
- Checking of CTR compliance prior to Project / Delivery Manager approval
- Evaluate with the Project Controls Manager month end data on a fortnightly cycle for compliance and accuracy and if not suitable return to the various departments any exception concerns.
- Liaison with the Projects Delivery Managers and Project Managers on specific issues of concern over routine project controls data which is affecting the running of the combination of the engineering, construction and project controls group.
- Liaison with senior project controls personnel to ensure that project specific Project Control procedures are maintained.
- Facilitate the timely and accurate execution of PEM project start-up procedures.
KPI’s
- Production of KPI data for Commercial Close Out and Personnel
- Collation of all the required data into the quarterly KPI scorecard
- Assistance to the relevant parties in the production of their input to the KPI’s
- Co-ordination of KPI meetings
Monthly Reports
- Analysis of cost data to produce personnel booking figures
- Analysis of cost data to produce the management fee monthly figure and production of the management fee analysis graph, if applicable
- Gathering of invoicing data
- Gathering of starter and leaver figures, where required
- Collation and formatting of all of the above data for input into the monthly reports
- Proof-reading of the monthly reports prior to issue
- Attendance at the Client monthly report review meetings, where required
Commercial Close Out
- Check daily reports for updates e.g. SH1 signed off, pack with OIM and note as appropriate on trackers
- Work through spreadsheets on a weekly basis to update from close out reports / Akims
- Forward actions to the relevant departments to close out CTR’s, jobcards, PO’s etc in a timely manner in order to meet the Commercial Close Out KPI dates
- Work alongside DCC to prioritise jobs for archive and ensure DCC sign-off of the Commercial Close Out form
- Forward actions to the Cost and Estimating departments to carry out the final steps for Commercial Close Out
- Forward the signed Commercial Close Out form once the EQ had been closed in AKiMS, ensuring KPI’s are met wherever possible
- Issue the monthly Commercial Close Out report to the client
Miscellaneous
- Perform AKiMS Super-User role for project controls function
- Co-ordination of the AKiMS action log
- Focal point for AKiMS queries within the project controls department
- Co-ordination of various Project Controls information e.g. OCA rates, Client audits etc
- Undertake ad hoc studies/duties as required by the Project Control Manager
- Attendance at other meetings as required
Team meetings
- Arrange project controls team meetings as necessary, book rooms, invite personnel, update agenda’s etc
- Maintenance of distribution lists
Project Controls Team Holidays
Maintenance of holiday chart, when required

Requirements
Experience
- 2 to 4 years of experience
- Able to demonstrate suitable experience in the field of and project controls within the Oil & Gas Industry.
- Fluent in Portuguese and English
- Good team working
- Good self-motivation
- Good communication skills
- Ability to work on own initiative
