Position Summary

The Project Coordinator will assist in developing project plans, schedules, and resource allocation, ensuring timely delivery, quality, and compliance with regulatory standards. The role involves monitoring project lifecycles from initiation to completion, assisting in resource coordination, and facilitating communication among team members


Key responsibilities include assisting project teams in identifying and mitigating risks, facilitating regular project meetings, and providing status updates to senior leadership. Initially, this is an ideal role for a skilled early- or mid-career professional with program management experience in sectors that require excellent staff and stakeholder relations.


All College staff contribute to a public protection mandate, delivering efficient and responsive services that align with the Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples Act (DRIPA) and broader commitments to reconciliation, while supporting the College in meeting its regulatory, strategic, and operational goals.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist in developing project plans, schedules, and resource allocation, while managing deadlines and workflows to ensure timely delivery, quality, and compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Support the management of project lifecycles from initiation to completion, ensuring timely delivery within scope and budget.
  • Details include but are not limited to:
    • Support developing project status reports for various stakeholders (sponsors, leads) and organization wide updates and to showcase project progress and value.
    • Assists the Project Manager in tracking project milestones and deliverables
    • Support RAID management by identifying issues early and, together with Project Manager, recommending mitigation strategies.
    • Coordinates and organizes project meetings, develop agendas and prepare meeting minutes to be shared with relevant stakeholders
    • Provides support for the execution of the day-to-day operational responsibilities of the project team
    • Manage project calendars and timelines, ensuring alignment with milestones.
  • Support project team in Identifying and coordinating all resources (e.g. human, financial, etc.) required to achieve project goals.
  • Supports and coordinates the Strategy, Quality Improvement and Performance team led initiatives.
  • Build and maintain staff and stakeholder relations.
  • Support projects guided by the College committee and engagement groups.
  • Utilize project management software tools and apply best practices, principles, and methodologies to manage projects effectively.
  • If required, communicate project status, risks, and outcomes to senior leadership and all involved parties, ensuring transparency and informed decision-making.
  • Ensure project documentation is complete, accurate, and maintained in accordance with CCHPBC standards
  • Assist in business proposal development.
  • Other tasks related to assisting and coordinating project management as required.


Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, public administration, or related field, with 2 years of relevant experience (or equivalent education and experience).
  • Experience managing projects through the full life cycle.
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, with proven ability to liaise effectively across departments.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (MS Project, Access, Excel, OneNote, Outlook, PowerPoint, Publisher, Word, Teams) and other project management software.
  • Awareness of the Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples Act (DRIPA) and Action Plan and their application to the work at CCHPBC.
  • Knowledge of the social, economic, political, and historical impacts of settler colonialism on Indigenous Peoples, along with familiarity with Indigenous-specific anti-racism, cultural safety, and relevant foundational documents and legislative commitments and how they intersect across the health care system.
  • Working knowledge of the Health Professions and Occupations Act including their application to the work at CCHPBC.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage deadlines.
  • Emotional intelligence, with the ability to manage emotions and maintain fairness and objectivity.
  • Detail-oriented with a strong drive for accuracy, capable of delivering results under pressure.
  • Associate of Project Management or PMP certification is an asset.
  • Understanding of public sector/healthcare regulation and compliance is an asset.



Compensation and Perks

The compensation for this position ranges from $51,780 to $64,725 annually, based on a 37.5-hour work week. The starting salary will be determined by factors such as the candidate’s job-related knowledge, skills, experience, the salaries of peers within the same range, market conditions, and other relevant considerations.

This role requires a minimum of three (3) in-office days per week, with priority given to designated team collaboration days. Work-from-home arrangements are dependent on operational requirements. Additionally, this role may occasionally require the incumbent to work outside of normal office hours.
