Project Coordinator
Summary
EBC, a 50+ year construction company in Ottawa, is hiring a Project Coordinator to plan, organize, and oversee construction sites so projects finish on time, on budget, and to high quality standards. Day-to-day work covers scheduling, contract and change-order management, budgeting support, permits, and subcontractor coordination, using MS Office and MS Project.

- Read the technical and administrative specifications of the project to be executed;
- Acquire the necessary technical and administrative information from the persons involved during the submission;
- Obtain blueprints and specifications for construction and compare them to bid plans;
- Report changes to professionals and claim costs;
- Read and understand prime contract terms, conditions, and requirements to ensure compliance throughout project execution;
- Draft notices for disputes, change orders, and contractual claims as required
- Support the project cost accountant with budget tracking, cost reporting, and financial documentation;
- Obtain licenses and permits as needed for the execution of the work;
- Draft contracts and agreements, negotiate terms and award them to subcontractors;
- Develop the prevention program requested for CNESST and monitor it on site;
- Establish the schedule (dates, main stages of construction, constraints, methodology) and / or the critical path of the project and monitor it weekly;
- Inform the superintendent of the project and discuss with him and the director of the proposed methods;
- Place orders for critical materials, negotiate prices and prepare contract documents, in collaboration with the construction manager, for subcontractors;
- Coordinate and participate in various meetings;
- Establish and maintain a professional and continuous positive rapport with the client, etc.;
- Travel is to be expected.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in construction project coordination;
- Master of MS Office and MS Project software;
- Strong management, negotiation, communication and problem-solving skills;
- Shows initiative and leadership;
- Team Player;
- Must be able to work onsite daily;
- Must be eligible and able to obtain a Federal Security Clearance.

In accordance with applicable pay transparency legislation, EBC Inc. has included the expected salary range for this role, which is $60,000-$100,000 . Compensation within the range is determined based on relevant experience, qualifications, localization, and internal equity. Base salary is one component of EBC’s comprehensive total rewards offering, which may include performance-based incentives, extended health and wellness benefits, retirement savings programs, and career development opportunities.
