Project Coordinator
Summary
Coordinates construction projects (cable/infrastructure works) across multiple sites in Singapore: conducting site surveys, obtaining permits, managing manpower, logistics, budgets, and safety compliance while liaising with clients and authorities. Requires MS Excel/Word/PowerPoint, a 2B or Class 3 driving licence, and 2+ years' construction experience.
Duties and scope of works:
- Conducts site surveys and liaises with Client’s' project officers to discuss project requirements and ensure all projects run smoothly.
- Initiates projects by requesting for NCE applications and other relevant permits, ensuring all necessary permits are obtained before the start of work at every site.
- Attends site meetings with the relevant authorities and clients' project officers.
- Manages manpower allocation across project sites, ensuring each team is adequately manned to meet project needs.
- Identifies suitable workers for training courses and recommends them to management, with reasons for each selection.
- Monitors workers' day-to-day working hours and minimises the need for overtime.
- Manages logistics arrangements, including team lorries and tipper trucks for delivery of materials to site and for soil dumping/disposal.
- Ensures every team has adequate materials on hand before commencing work.
- Meets the construction budget by forecasting resources and materials required, monitoring project expenditure, and implementing corrective actions where necessary.
- Briefs teams on the day-to-day scope of work and tracks progress at every site to ensure projects stay on target.
- Ensures teams adhere to method statements, PE designs, and safe work procedures.
- Attends to the signing of permits-to-work at site for all high-risk activities, such as excavation, lifting, hot work, confined space and work at height.
- Resolves site issues as they arise; where no suitable solution can be found, escalates the matter to management for discussion.
- Ensures reinstatement works are carried out properly at every site to minimise rework.
- Ensures all teams submit site sketches and site photos daily.
- Attends cable cutting witnessing as and when required.
- Ensures all balance cables are accounted for and properly stored at the store and arranges for prompt cable return.
- Assists the claims department by following up with clients' project officers to obtain outstanding documents and keep claims moving.
- Carries out any other ad-hoc duties assigned by management.
Job Requirement:
- At least 2 years of working experience in the construction industry for this position.
- Possess 2B or Class 3 driving license.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to multi-task, adapt, and quick on feet to handle challenges on site.
- Proactive attitude, self-motivated, strong problem-solving ability, and communication skills.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
