Project Director

Location and availability:

Ras Laffan, Qatar
Preference will be given to candidates who are currently available in the UAE for face-to-face interviews with the client.
Candidates should be available to join within a reasonable timeframe, subject to notice period requirements.

Role summary:

The Project Director will provide overall leadership and strategic direction for large-scale building construction projects, ensuring successful delivery in terms of safety, quality, schedule, budget, and client satisfaction. The role requires managing multidisciplinary teams, contractors, consultants, and stakeholders while maintaining compliance with project objectives and local authority requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provide overall leadership and strategic direction for the project, ensuring successful delivery in terms of safety, quality, schedule, budget, and client satisfaction.
• Manage multidisciplinary teams and major project stakeholders throughout project delivery.
• Oversee commercial, contractual, and risk management across large construction projects.

Requirements

Required qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• 20+ years of experience in large-scale building construction projects, including successful delivery of projects of comparable scale and complexity.
• At least 10+ years of experience in senior leadership roles on construction projects.
• Previous experience in Qatar or the GCC.
• Experience managing multidisciplinary teams and major project stakeholders.
• Strong commercial, contractual, and risk management experience on large construction projects.
• Proficiency with Primavera P6, BIM platforms such as Revit and Navisworks, and digital construction practices.
• Valid MMUP/UPDA registration where applicable.
• Fluent written and spoken English.
• Able to work on-site.

Preferred qualifications

• Experience on accommodation compounds, residential developments, or large building complexes.
• Familiarity with QatarEnergy, major clients, consultants, and local authority requirements.
• Valid MMUP/UPDA registration in Qatar.
