Project Engineer
JOB SUMMARY
The primary focus of this position will be to work in conjunction with Project Managers and Superintendents to manage the successful execution of complex commercial construction projects. Will provide day-to-day management of various administrative and on-site project tasks while providing support to the project team.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist in gathering and distributing project-related information
- Assist in organizing and reviewing subcontractor bids
- Coordinate and process change management items and project documentation i.e. front-end bid documents, contracts, submittals, RFI’s, bulletins, meeting minutes, etc.
- Organize and disperse contracts, insurance requirements, change orders, etc.
- Maintain project files
- Update and maintain project communication lists
- Prepare meeting agendas and meeting minutes
- Update project budget changes as related to ASI’s, RFI’s, bulletins, etc.
- Organize and update drawings and specifications
- Manage project close-out
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Engineering, Construction Management, Business Management, or similar is preferred, but not required
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Time management and organizational skills
- Strong computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office programs
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to read and understand drawings and specifications is preferred, but not required
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works at the project jobsite exposed to outdoor weather conditions. The employee must be able to walk around the jobsite and navigate various terrain and work areas under construction. Must have the physical ability to climb stairs and ladders and occasionally lift up to 20 pounds. Employee will be required to always wear protective safety equipment while walking the jobsite.
